Resilience has announced an expansion of its strategic partnership with Eli Lilly to boost domestic medicine production across the United States. The Cincinnati-based contract development and manufacturing organization and the pharmaceutical giant, which first established their collaboration in 2023, are committing $750 million to expand Resilienceโ€™s advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Ohio.

Expanding Manufacturing Capacity for GLP-1 Therapies

Under the expanded agreement, Resilienceโ€™s production footprint in Ohio will now encompass the Lilly KwikPen injectable device, which is utilized to deliver GLP-1 therapies for diabetes and obesity. The inclusion of KwikPen manufacturing operations is set to generate at least 400 new high-skilled jobs, bringing Resilienceโ€™s total employment in Ohio to more than 1,400 workforce members across its regional facilities.

Preparations for the campus expansion are already underway, with full operations scheduled to commence in early 2027. To date, the ongoing strategic partnership between the two companies has produced more than 150 million doses of medicine for patients in the U.S., delivered in both vial and pre-filled syringe formats. Combined, the organizations operate one of the nationโ€™s largest sterile injectable manufacturing operations.

Executive Leadership Insights on Domestic Supply

Company leaders highlighted the broader impact of the expanded collaboration on critical drug supply chains and advanced device packaging capabilities.

William S. Marth, president and CEO of Resilience, said: โ€œWe are proud of what we have built together with Lilly and this new expansion as we scale production of complex medicines in Ohio. Our investment reflects our long-term commitment to building one of the largest and most advanced sterile injectable and device assembly and packaging operations in the United States, and demonstrates how trusted partnerships, operational excellence, and disciplined execution can strengthen Americaโ€™s medicine supply.โ€

Edgardo Hernandez, Lillyโ€™s EVP and president, Manufacturing Operations, said: โ€œAs demand for our medicines continues to increase, scaling complex manufacturing programs requires proven technical capability, an uncompromising commitment to quality, and the ability to deliver consistently over time. Todayโ€™s announcement highlights Resilienceโ€™s role as a strong partner to Lilly in strengthening domestic supply of high-demand treatments.โ€

This major expansion reinforces ongoing efforts to scale advanced medicine production and secure biopharmaceutical infrastructure for high-demand injectables.
