Mylan Inc.today announced that its UK and Italy-based subsidiaries have launched Ibandronic Acid Film Coated Tablets POM, 150 mg. This product is the generic version of Roche’s Bonviva® Tablets, a treatment for osteoporosis.

Mylan EMEA President Didier Barretsaid: “We are excited to be adding generic Ibandronic Acid to our strong portfolio of more than 350 products in the UK and 340 in Italy. Mylan was the first company to launch a generic Ibandronic Acid formulation in the UK. These launches follow our successful launch of this product in Spain last November.”
Ibandronic Acid Film Coated Tablets POM had sales of approximately 8.5 million euros (7.5 million Pounds Sterling) in the UK and sales of approximately 27 million euros in Italy for the 12 months ending March 2012, according to IMS Health.
