SK Biopharmaceuticals has established a new innovation platform in the United States aimed at helping Korean biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies expand their presence in international markets. The company announced Monday that it officially opened SK Life Science LinX at its subsidiary, SK Life Science, in New Jersey during a ceremony held last week. The initiative is designed to support promising firms seeking opportunities in the US while strengthening connections between Koreaโs research capabilities and major Western markets.
The newly launched facility spans approximately 530 square meters and includes individual office spaces. According to the company, the center is intended to serve as a gateway linking Koreaโs advanced research and development expertise with global business opportunities. The โXโ in LinX represents exchange, expansion and exploration, reflecting the platformโs goal of fostering collaboration and growth. During the opening event, SK Biopharmaceuticals entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and the New Jersey and New York branches of the Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals. The agreement establishes cooperation to advance the newly introduced platform and support Korean companies pursuing entry into the US market.
Under the partnership, the facility will provide a range of programs tailored to companies expanding overseas. These initiatives include legal and patent consulting services, introductions to local investors, and support designed to navigate the US business environment. The center will also host academic symposiums and seminars intended to strengthen networking opportunities among industry participants and researchers. Through these activities, SK Biopharmaceuticals aims to create an environment where emerging Korean biotech enterprises can access resources and connections needed for international growth.
โGoing beyond a simple shared office space, SK Life Science LinX is a strongpoint that can lead shared growth of Koreaโs promising biotech firms on the global stage,โ said SK Biopharmaceuticals CEO Lee Dong-hoon.
โThrough various open innovation efforts with Koreaโs promising biotech firms, we will combine technologies and resources to create tangible outcomes in the global market and build a sustainable ecosystem for shared growth.โ
The company said the platform is expected to encourage collaboration among industry stakeholders while helping Korean firms establish a stronger foothold abroad. Through the launch of SK Life Science LinX, SK Biopharmaceuticals is seeking to support innovation, business development and global expansion opportunities for the countryโs biotechnology sector.
