ABEC is set to open a new manufacturing facility in Wilson, North Carolina, further strengthening its network of biopharmaceutical process equipment and consumables production. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion is scheduled for 24 September, with company leadership, employees, partners, and community leaders expected to attend.
A New Hub for Bioprocess Equipment and Consumables
The Wilson facility will produce bioprocess equipment and consumable products used in the development and manufacturing of biologics, vaccines, and related advanced medicines. The site adds to ABEC’s existing operations in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Springfield, Missouri; and Fermoy and Kells in Ireland, forming an expanded global manufacturing footprint.
The company indicated that Wilson was selected in part because of the area’s standing as one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States for life sciences activity. The new plant is expected to generate additional manufacturing and technical jobs in eastern North Carolina, contributing to the region’s growing industrial base.
Leadership Highlights Commitment to the Biopharmaceutical Industry
ABEC CEO Scott Pickering commented on the opening: “Opening our Wilson facility represents another important milestone in ABEC’s commitment to supporting the global biopharmaceutical industry. This investment expands our manufacturing capabilities, brings us closer to customers in the southeastern US, and reinforces our ability to deliver the industry’s most comprehensive portfolio of bioprocess equipment, consumables, and engineering solutions. We are proud to become part of the Wilson community and look forward to building long-term partnerships throughout the region.”
Facility Opening to Recognise Broad Collaboration
The upcoming opening event will include tours of the facility and will recognise the contributions of employees, contractors, community partners, and local authorities who supported the project’s development and completion.
With the Wilson facility now coming online, ABEC’s expanded bioprocess manufacturing capacity places it in a stronger position to serve customers across the southeastern United States and beyond.
