Syntegon, a leading strategic partner to the global pharmaceutical, biotech and food industries, today reported strong results for the first half of 2026. Group sales increased 7 percent year-on-year to EUR 883 million, while adjusted EBITDA rose 16 percent to EUR 148 million. The adjusted EBITDA margin expanded to 16.8 percent, up 130 bps versus first half of 2025. Order intake reached EUR 964 million. A book-to-bill ratio of 1.09 and a record order backlog of EUR 1.3 billion provide a solid foundation for continued growth.

“Our first-half 2026 results underline the positive impact of our strategy and the strength of Syntegon’s market position,” said Torsten Türling, CEO of Syntegon. “Our Pharma business remains our strongest growth engine. We achieved major new customer wins and market share gains in the expanding biologics market globally and in the United States in particular.”

“Our first-half results demonstrate Syntegon’s strong operating leverage. Adjusted EBITDA increased more than twice as fast as sales, taking the margin to 16.8 percent,” added Eros Carletti, CFO of Syntegon. “This reflects the stronger earnings contribution from Pharma, operational discipline and continued improvements in project execution. Our solid order book provides a strong foundation for continued profitable growth and cash generation.”

Pharma business achieves double-digit sales growth

The pharmaceutical and biotech industries continue to benefit from structural growth drivers including the expansion of biologics and injectable medicines, and
growing demand for more flexible and highly automated pharmaceutical production. Syntegon’s Pharma sales increased by 14 percent in the first half of 2026, making the business the strongest contributor to Group growth.

Demand remained strong for aseptic Fill & Finish and isolator-equipped line solutions, supported by continued investment in biologics and injectable medicines as well as increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.

Pharma Solid also delivered double-digit growth, driven by strong demand for innovative capsule-filling solutions and an expanded granulation product portfolio.

The performance in Pharma reflects Syntegon’s increasingly customer-centric approach driven by its strategic lifecycle partner strategy. Innovative new solutions contributed to significant new customer wins. In the Pharma and Biotech industry, Europe remained a resilient core market. In Asia, Pharma sales rose substantially year-on-year, gaining further market share in the expanding biologics market and leveraging the benefits of Syntegon’s highly successful operations in China. In the United States, Pharma order intake increased significantly driven by the company’s focused growth strategy for this strategic region.

Food business growth muted by challenging market dynamics

Market dynamics remained challenging in the first half of 2026, particularly in the Chocolate & Bars industry where Syntegon is the global market leader. Customers continue to face cost pressure, leading to cautious investment decisions. Against this backdrop, Syntegon launched new product solutions supporting customers’ need for higher efficiency and flexibility in H1. The value of these solutions is reflected in customers’ increasing adoption of the SVX platform, a highly innovative vertical packaging solution. In the context of the more challenging market dynamics, the company is taking the appropriate measures to respond to the market challenges and defend its premium margin position.

Innovation addresses the needs of the Factory of the Future

Customers increasingly seek more automated, flexible and efficient production as they respond to labor shortages, cost pressure, stricter regulations and growing portfolio complexity. In H1, Syntegon launched next-generation solutions with enhanced automation, robotics and AI-enabled functionality, supporting customers to develop their Factory of the Future. Combined with Syntegon’s holistic lifecycle services, customers achieve lowest TCO across their operational footprint.

Syntegon confirms full-year 2026 outlook of growth and margin expansion

For the full year 2026, Syntegon confirms its outlook. With a healthy order book, sustained market demand in Pharma and Biotech and a continued focus on disciplined execution, Syntegon expects further profitable growth in 2026.
