Integrated Inspection Systems for Leak Detection in Pharma

The pharmaceutical industry is increasingly moving toward a more holistic approach to quality control by combining various inspection technologies into a single, unified platform. Integrated inspection systems for leak detection in pharma offer a multi-faceted solution that simultaneously addresses cosmetic defects, particulate contamination, and container closure integrity. By merging high-speed visual cameras with sensitive high-voltage leak detection modules, these systems provide a comprehensive assessment of every unit, ensuring that each dose of medication is contained within a perfectly sealed and sterile environment. This integration not only reduces the risk of secondary contamination but also significantly improves the overall efficiency and reliability of the manufacturing process.

United Cargo announced it will enhance its TempControl service by becoming the first U.S. carrier to lease temperature-controlled shipping containers manufactured by DoKaSch Temperature Solutions.

The new global rental agreement with DoKaSch enables United Cargo’s TempControl customers to lease the DoKaSch Opticooler RAP directly from United Cargo. With the ability to fit up to five euro pallets or four CP1 Pallets of cargo, the Opticooler helps shippers meet the growing worldwide demand for pharmaceuticals.

“It¿s more important than ever to move critical medical shipments and other temperature-sensitive cargo swiftly and safely to destinations across the globe,” said United Cargo President Jan Krems. “We are proud to be the first North American carrier to sign a direct rental agreement with DoKaSch. This agreement not only offers TempControl customers more options to suit their needs, but allows us to provide an innovative solution to keep critical supply chains moving during the COVID-19 crisis.”

Andreas Seitz, Managing Director at DoKaSch Temperature Solutions, also stresses the relevance of the agreement. “Reliable air cargo options for pharmaceutical products are always in high demand, and this is even more true as the world confronts the COVID-19 pandemic,” Seitz said. “With closed borders and new restrictions every day, a reliable transport infrastructure for highly sensitive pharmaceutical products is crucial. Together with United Cargo, we can help sustain a stable global pharma logistics network.”

DoKaSch Temperature Solutions supplies a fleet of highly reliable temperature-regulated containers. Electrically powered and fully air conditioned, they can heat as well as cool without using dry ice. Batteries allow a continuous operation of the container when grid power is not available — enabling transport of the most valuable and sensitive pharmaceuticals without temperature excursions. Opticoolers may also be used as temporary storage facilities if adequate infrastructure is not available.

TempControl customers seeking more information about leasing DoKaSch Opticooler RAP containers from United Cargo are encouraged to contact their United Cargo Sales Professional.

Advancing Pharma Quality with HV Leak Detection Tools

Maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical quality is a fundamental requirement for the safe delivery of injectable medications. The development of advancing pharma quality with HV leak detection tools represents a major leap forward in the deterministic testing of container closure integrity. By utilizing sophisticated sensors and high-voltage electrical fields, these tools can detect microscopic structural defects that would otherwise compromise the sterility of life-saving products. This high-sensitivity approach significantly enhances the accuracy of the inspection process, providing manufacturers with a robust solution for ensuring packaging integrity and regulatory compliance.
