CPHI Milan 2026, recognized as a premier global gathering for the pharmaceutical industry, has announced the introduction of four new specialist zones for pharma at its upcoming event. Scheduled for October 6-8, 2026, at the Fiera Milan exhibition centre in Rho, Italy, these specialized areas will focus on AI & Tech, Cold Chain & Logistics, Labelling, and Contamination Control. These platforms are designed to bridge the gap between pharmaceutical manufacturers and the specialized technology and service providers necessary for navigating modern supply chain disruptions, digital transformation, and increasingly stringent regulatory environments. This strategic initiative aims to attract organizations from adjacent industries, such as software and advanced logistics, whose capabilities are becoming vital to the pharmaceutical value chain.

The expansion comes in response to rising industry demands for cross-sector collaboration to improve operational efficiency and compliance. Tara Dougal, Event Director for CPHI Milan, explained the shift by stating, “Pharma is evolving rapidly, and innovation increasingly depends on collaboration beyond traditional industry boundaries,” she further noted, “These new zones are designed to help companies from adjacent industries showcase their expertise, from AI-driven manufacturing and digital compliance to resilient logistics and next-generation labelling solutions.” By highlighting industries ranging from manufacturing optimization and temperature-controlled packaging to anti-counterfeiting and smart labeling, CPHI Milan 2026 provides a focused environment where pharmaceutical and biotech decision-makers can source the external expertise required to accelerate commercialization.

A significant highlight of the event is the Contamination Control Zone, established in partnership with the International Confederation of Contamination Control Societies (ICCCS). This collaboration focuses on sterile manufacturing and the management of contamination risks, particularly under the revised EU GMP Annex 1 regulations. Hasim Solmaz, Chairman of ICCCS, commented, “We are very pleased to collaborate with CPHI Milan to strengthen the visibility and impact of contamination control within the pharmaceutical industry. As the importance of cleanroom technologies, sterile manufacturing and regulatory compliance continues to grow, it is essential to create dedicated platforms that bring together experts, innovators and end users,” and added, “This partnership represents an important step towards positioning contamination control not as a supporting function, but as a critical pillar of product quality and patient safety. Through this collaboration, we aim to support knowledge exchange, industry alignment and the engagement of the next generation of professionals.”

The partnership with ICCCS, which represents cleanroom experts from over 20 countries, aims to create a unified global meeting point for the contamination control community. Andres Silva, Global Head of Business Development at Informa Markets, remarked, “We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with the ICCCS – the global authority on cleanroom technology and contamination control standards, representing experts from 20+ countries.” He continued, “As pharma companies place greater emphasis on quality, compliance and sterile manufacturing, contamination control is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of pharmaceutical production. This partnership will significantly expand the presence of cleanroom and contamination control innovators at CPHI Milan, positioning contamination control as a key focus area, not only for 2026, but as a long-term priority for the industry.” These specialist zones for pharma underscore the event’s role as a critical hub for international healthcare innovators, CDMOs, and pharmaceutical leaders seeking to modernize the manufacturing ecosystem.
