One in 16 people working for the Endress+Hauser Group is employed in R&D.

In 2014, Endress+Hauser filed more patents than ever before due to their range of innovative products.

One in 16 people working for the Endress+Hauser Group is employed in R&D and work every day to find solutions for problems in measurement and automation engineering.

Endress+Hauser employ more than 700 people in R&D to ensure that customers worldwide can make their processes safer, more efficient and environmentally friendly.

In 2014, 337 submissions were received from teams from different sites and locations, with 259 of these scrutinized and filed for patents by Endress+Hauser.

The number of active industrial property rights has reached 6,000. The products which were filed the most were in flow, level and analysis measurement technology.

Endress+Hauser Group deputy CEO Michael Ziesemer said: “Innovative products giving our customers added value are our biggest strength, especially in times of economic uncertainty.”

Only 30% of all patents reach a level of economic relevance, usually after many years, and are important for the growth of a company.

An important role in Endress+Hauser’s innovation process is played by what is known as the ‘customer parliaments.’ The company’s experts meet customers from various industrial sectors to find about their needs and requirements.

The corporate culture cultivates and promotes research also involves honouring inventors and innovators during the annual Innovators’ Meeting, held this year in Muttenz, Switzerland.

All 344 people who were involved in patent applications in 2014 are invited. Valuable prizes and awards go to particularly economically-significant patents.
