The Wasdell Group (Wasdell), a leading outsourcing partner for the pharmaceutical industry, has secured a new contract to supply medicines and dietary supplements directly to consumers from its Swindon site.

The partnership with a major healthcare company will see Wasdell packaging and distributing non-prescription drugs and supplements directly to customers as well as providing a pharmacy service for its clientsโ€™ over-the-counter pharmacy medicines which include codeine-based painkillers and nasal decongestants.

Managing director Daniel Tedham said: โ€œThere is a growing trend for consumers ordering pharmacy medicines and nutritional supplements directly from manufacturers and we are delighted to make an important contribution to that process.

โ€œThis win comes on the back of our reputation for efficiency and our ability to respond to customer demand, and for our commitment to developing packaging that is recyclable or biodegradable.

โ€œAdding a pharmacy is also a significant addition to our offering and weโ€™re excited to be delivering quality services in yet another area.โ€

As part of the contract, Wasdell is also recruiting for 30 new roles to be based at the Swindon facility. Available positions include two qualified pharmacists.

The new contract will begin operating before the end of the year.
