Bosch Packaging Technology, a supplier of process and packaging technology, has opened a new 34 crores (€5m) manufacturing facility in Verna, Goa, India.

The 33,000ft² facility is designed to fulfill capacity expansion and meet the increasing demand of India’s packaging market as well as international markets.

Bosch managing director V K Viswanathan said the company sees India, Middle East and Africa as a high potential market for packaging technology particularly in the pharmaceuticals and foods segments.

“This state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Goa will meet the growing needs of the region through appropriate products and packaging solutions,” Viswanathan added.

“The new facility will also generate good growth and employment opportunities for the people of Goa.”

The company said in the next three years the new facility will increase production capacity of the plant from 200 machines per year to its double.
