Clinical documentation and Speech Understanding solutions provider M*Modal has signed an agreement with Intermountain Healthcare to jointly develop innovative mobile technology for speech-enabled Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE).

The technology using iOS devices, including iPhone and iPad mobile digital devices aims to enable physicians and hospital staff to conversationally order patient medication and other medical function.

The mobile application, whihc allows physicians to quickly, easily and securely place orders at the point of care, will benefit healthcare providers.

Intermountain Healthcare Information Systems CIO and VP Marc Probst said, “The ability for a physician to dictate common prescription orders and have them seamlessly integrated into our electronic medical record system can create better productivity and improve patient safety,”
