As pharmaceutical manufacturers are required to go through rigorous procedures, regulations and quality control to produce their products to the highest standards imaginable, logistics providers will also have to follow suit to meet their demands.

Not long ago in September, Airfreight Logistics had the opportunity to attend Emirates SkyCargo’s most recent unveiling – Emirates SkyPharma, a purpose-built facility dedicated exclusively to the timely and secure transport of temperature sensitive pharmaceutical shipments at Dubai International Airport (DXB).

Pharmaceutical manufacturers are continuously working to develop more product offerings to expand their market presence, and logistics professionals and their partners will have to move at the same pace to keep up with their demands. From what we saw at Emirates SkyCargo’s new facility, it looks like the airline is at the forefront in supporting the pharma industry and ensuring the health and quality of these critical shipments.
