Jean-Marie Ouedraogo
Assistant Professor
Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez (UEMF)
Jean-Marie Ouedraogo is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez – UEMF, Morocco, whose career sits at the rare intersection of science, engineering, and the factory floor. He holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy, an Engineering Degree in Pharmaceutical and Industrial Processes, and also a Specialized Studies Diploma in Industrial Pharmacy – an unusual combination that reflects his belief that medicines must not only be discovered but also manufactured, scaled, and regulated with precision. Before entering academia, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a Production Pharmacist and Process Engineer, and that lived experience now shapes everything he teaches and researches. His interests span pharmaceutical manufacturing and process optimization, Quality by Design – QbD, pharmaceutical quality systems, data integrity, artificial intelligence in pharmaceutical development, regulatory science, and pharmaceutical technology. He is also deeply committed when it comes to advancing the pharmaceutical industry along with scientific capacity across Africa, working to ensure that the continent does not just consume medicines but also contributes to their development and production. A scholar, an engineer, and also a builder of systems and people, Dr. Ouedraogo brings to his work a clarity that comes from having stood on both sides of the pharmaceutical divide – and a conviction that the future of medicine depends on bridging them.
