Dr. Yuche Chen is an Associate Professor of Transportation Engineering at Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of South Carolina. His research focuses on developing sustainable, efficient and accessible transport systems through data-driven analysis, modelling and optimisation. His work is especially relevant to healthcare via transport accessibility, mobility equity, emerging mobility technologies and the role of transport systems in linking communities with essential services including healthcare. His methodological expertise includes statistical forecasting, machine learning, optimisation and transportation systems modelling. Prior to coming to the University of South Carolina, Dr. Chen was a Research Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University and received his Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from the University of California, Davis. He is an interdisciplinary researcher working on how transportation technologies and data-driven approaches can enhance accessibility, sustainability, and community well-being.
