Only one week left before BIOVISION, June 5 and 6 Cite Internationale in Lyon, France

Disruptive Innovation – Health – Funding | Immunotherapies – Healthy Ageing

Only one week left to join us in Lyon to meet the key international players in health care and life sciences, including representatives from academia, the public and private sectors, and civil society.

Organized by the Fondation pour l’Université de Lyon, BIOVISION will be held at the Cité Internationale de Lyon, on June 5 and 6.

Don’t miss the future-oriented plenary sessions on immunotherapies and healthy ageing, with leading figures such as Seth Berkley, CEO of GAVI, Martin Friede, Program Leader for the Technology Transfer Initiative at WHO, Ruxandra Draghia-Aki, Director of the Health Directorate at the Research DG of the European Commission and Stanley Plotkin, Emeritus Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

A number of events not to be missed:

– The second BIOVISION Investor Conference (IC) is organized in collaboration with Lyonbiopole and France Biotech. Dedicated to funding for biotech and medtech, IC connects start-ups, growth businesses and mid-sized companies with financial and industry partners for a series of discussions, workshops and meetings. For the 24 companies selected as the best in their fields, the IC will provide the opportunity to pitch in front of an audience of experts, and potential partners or investors during BIOVISION.

– The second edition of BIOVISION Catalyzer, organized jointly with Lyonbiopole. These meetings provide a showcase for 20 innovative collaborative projects and offer increased exposure to project owners in the fields of immunotherapies and ‘healthy ageing’, plus the opportunity to engage with potential partners.

BIOVISION also offers:
– Networking and partnership opportunities with the online platform and dedicated on-site one-to-one meeting areas.
– Sessions open to the general public on the topics of ‘The Immune System’ and ‘Healthy ageing’, addressing the issues that affect us all.
– A hotspot for industry meetings:

1. The EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations) will hold its Annual Meeting during BIOVISION, attracting key players in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors from all the EU member states, EFTA countries and beyond. This year, the EFPIA meeting will focus on ‘Investing in science, investing in life’, with a focus on furthering EFPIA’s Healthy EU campaign, outlining a vision for an integrated life sciences strategy for Europe. http://www.efpia.eu/mediaroom/152/43/HealthyEU-EFPIA-launches-digital-European-Parliament-elections-campaign

About Biovision

The BIOVISION forum is dedicated to future-oriented research in the field of life sciences. It has been convened since 1999 by an independent not-for-profit organization, the Fondation pour l’Universite de Lyon. Its reach is global. BIOVISION brings together a large number of leading figures including international decision-makers from the academic, policy-making, private and civil society sectors. It takes place in Lyon, France, each year. The multidisciplinary decision-makers jointly reflect on future advances in life sciences. They consider how to convert research discoveries into practical, innovative solutions with public health benefits by directly addressing business models and the funding solutions.
BIOVISION has the support of high-profile public and private partners who are closely involved in the new format of the event. Local authorities (in Greater Lyon, the Urban Community of Lyon; France’s Rhone department and the Rhone-Alps region) have a long history of commitment to the development and promotion of life sciences in Rhone-Alpes.
To encourage innovation and action, BIOVISON has introduced the ’Catalyzer’ meeting, co-organized with world-class bio-cluster Lyonbiopole, which promotes projects coming out of public-private partnerships and the ’Investor Conference’, co-organized with Lyonbiopole and France Biotech, to identify promising start-ups and discuss how they can be funded. An online networking platform and on-site meeting areas help to foster dialog.
BIOVISION also includes conferences that are open to all, to disseminate knowledge, raise awareness and engage in dialog around scientific issues and the challenges of tomorrow.
BIOVISON enjoys the support of Greater Lyon (the Urban Community of Lyon), the Rhone department and the Rhone-Alps region.
