India’s ranking among the world’s top 10 largest manufacturing countries has already improved by three places to sixth position in 2015. The country’s manufacturing sector has the potential to touch US $1 trillion by 2025 and create up to 90 million domestic jobs by 2025.
Within the manufacturing industry, the industrial and warehousing spaces are rapidly expanding and are expected to touch about 125 million sq. ft. in the next five years. CeMAT INDIA 2016, the trade fair for material handling, storage systems, intra-logistics, warehousing and logistic services will also present event features such asIntralogistics Conference and a MasterClass Seminar.IntralogisticsConference would address the warehousing, material handling and the intra-logistics sector, covering topics like Smart impact of Intralogistics 4.0, Supply Chain in a digital world, How ASAEN and China will shape the supply chain industry, Role of technology in reshaping the future of supply chain visibility etc.

Yaduvendra Singh, Global Head – Sales, Marketing and Solutions Group, GreyOrange, one of the key exhibitors at CeMAT INDIA said, “Warehousing can contribute to almost 25% of the overall logistics cost for a company, which makes it imperative to look into operational inefficiencies in this space. With the growing customer demands and changing industry dynamics, the overall time and cost involved in logistics is becoming more and more critical. While there is minimal scope of improvement in transportation as of now in India, warehousing is an area which most companies are now looking at optimizing. Hence, adoption of technology in warehouses, distribution and fulfilment centres is the next big thing, not just in India but around the world. Trade fairs like WIN INDIA provides a great opportunity for solutions providers like GreyOrange by bringing the industry together.”
While the warehousing and logistics sector in the manufacturing industry is growing at a fast pace, the Indian industrial automation sector is also booming towards growth. The Industrial Automation sector in India is expected to reach INR 197 billion by 2020 and is likely to increase in future due to the ‘Make In India’ initiative and relaxation of FDI policies in the manufacturing industry.
